Getting Around Portland
Portland is a national leader in transportation solutions. The city's transit authority, TriMet, oversees an extensive network of bus, light rail and streetcar lines, the likes of which can't be found even in cities many times its size. The latest addition, the Portland Aerial Tram, is receiving national attention. 10,000 people rode the tram for the kick-off weekend, January 26-27, 2007! Instead of building more highways, Portland has chosen more sustainable solutions and those choices color the character of the community.
